A Year of Impact: Fuel for the Journey Ahead

When you’re building something with purpose - something that goes beyond profit and speaks to the future we want to live in - it’s easy to get caught with your head down. You’re in the work. You’re pushing forward. And often, the scale of the climate challenge can feel daunting.

But then a moment like this comes along - and it lifts your head.

The 2024 Ecologi Impact Report, which was released last week, is one of those moments. It’s a rare chance to step back, breathe, and truly see what we’ve helped create together. It’s more than a PDF - it’s a pulse check on progress, and a reminder that the work we do is making a real difference.

This year, our collective efforts led to 9.97 million trees being funded for planting. That’s nearly 10 million new lives taking root - creating shade, oxygen, and future habitats in landscapes from sub-Saharan Africa to the Scottish Highlands. These trees aren’t just statistics; they’re symbols of resilience and regeneration.

We also helped avoid 548,200 tonnes of CO₂ emissions - the equivalent of the emissions generated by the average petrol car in the UK driving over 3.3 billion km. Or think of it this way: that’s like there being over 315,000 fewer petrol cars on the UK’s roads for a whole year. A truly staggering impact.

And beyond avoidance, we removed 21,200 tonnes of CO₂ directly from the atmosphere. That’s equivalent to capturing and locking away the annual emissions of more than 650 UK households.

But maybe the most moving figure? Over 47,800 livelihoods supported. From local tree nurseries in Peru to Forest Gardens in Uganda, the work we’ve funded has enabled tens of thousands of people to feed their families, build resilience to climate change, and gain economic independence. That’s where climate justice and social justice meet - and it’s powerful.

The market we’re in isn’t easy. The environmental space is shifting, and the pressure to prove real, measurable impact is higher than ever. But when you see the results - when you hold them in your hands - it brings a sense of purpose that cuts through the noise.
